Short History
The founder of the family was Thakur Ajit Singh, the fourth son of Rawat Arjun Singh, the founder of the Kurabar family. Thakur Ajit Singh, signed, on behalf of the Maharana, the treaty of 1818 with the British Government.
The Asind estate is held by one of the first-class nobles of Mewar, who is styled Rawat, and consists of 72 villages.

- Thakur AJIT SINGH, 1st Rao of Asind, younger son of Rawat Arjun Singhji of Kurabar, he was granted the Jagir of Asind; married and had adoptive issue. He died after 1818.

- Rawat RANJIT SINGH, 5th Rao of Asind 1896/-, born in September,1884 as Kunwar Ranjit Singh, third son of Rawat Jait Singh of Kurabar; he was adopted by Rawat Arjun Singh as his successor; educated at Mayo College, Ajmer; he adopted Kunwar Pratap Singh, younger brother of Rawat Nardaeo Singhji of Kurabar; married and had adoptive issue. He died of influenza in November, 1918.
