Short History
The founder of the clan was Rao Kumpa of Marwar, a brother of Rao Jodha and great-grandson of Rao Ranmal, whose fourth son, Rao Mandan Singh, was granted the estate of Asope. Thakur Raj Singh, who was fourth in descent, was the father of Thakur Nahar Singh (Pirthi Singh), ancestor of Thakur Kani Ram, founder of the Thikana.

- Thakur SHIVNATH SINGH, 15th Thakur of Asope 1836/1873, born 1829 as Kunwar Shivnath Singh, son of Thakur Mohabbat Singh of Hingoli, he was adopted by the widow of Thakur Bakhtawar Singh as successor; married 1846, Thakurani Chand Kanwar, daughter of Thakur Gambhir Singh of Jhalamand in Jodhpur; and had adoptive issue. He died sp 1873.

- Rao Bahadur Thakur CHAIN SINGH, 16th Thakur of Asope 1873/1925, born 1860, as Kunwar Chain Singh, third son of Thakur Daulat Singh, son of Thakur Guman Singh of Barnia (see above), he was adopted by Thakur Shivnath Singh as his successor, Rao Bahadur [cr.1911], Member of the Panchayat Court 1874, Member of the State Council 1884, Joint Judge of Sardaran Court in 1894, Member of the Consultative Council 1911; Maharaja Jaswant Singh was much pleased with him and honoured him by visiting Asope in Samvat 1944 wwith Maharani Sahiba and his brothers and by staying there for three days; appointed as a Guide to His Excellency the Right Honorable Gilbert Lord Minto (Viceroy and Governor-General of India) when he visited Jodhpur in 1908; accompanied Maharaja Sumer Singh to the Coronation Durbar of 1911 at Delhi; served Their Highnesses Maharaja Jaswant Singh, Sardar Singh, Sumer Singh and Umaid Singh; married 1878, Thakurani Son Kanwar, daughter of Rao Bahadur Thakur Mangal Singhji of Garhi in Alwar, and had issue. He died on 4th November, 1925.

- Raja FATEH SINGH, 17th Thakur of Asope 1925/1953, born 1st September 1884, Rao Bahadur [cr.1933], married 1stly, 1901, Rani Ratan Kumari, died sp in 1904, daughter of Khangarot Thakur Karan Singh of Harsoli in Jaipur, married 2ndly, 1906, Rani Saubhagya Kumari [Sobhag Kanwar], born 27th January 1888, daughter of Thakur Bhagwant Singh of Mandawa Line II, and his wife, Thakurani Suraj Kanwar, she had issue, four daughters, married thirdly, 1916, Rani Suraj Kumari, daughter of Urjanot Bhati Thakur Moti Singh of Rampura in Jodhpur, and had issue, three sons and six daughters. He died 1953.

- Kunwar Bhawani Singh (second son), born 23rd October 1930, educated at Mayo College, Ajmer; married 1945, Kunwarani Jatan Kanwar, daughter of Thakur Harnath Singh of Jakhan, and had issue, five sons and one daughter. He died 1988.
