Maharaj Kumar Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, a descendant of the 1,500-year-old House of Mewar, is known for his commitment to philanthropy and humanitarian efforts. He set a Guinness World Record on January 29, 2025, at his residence, City Palace in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India, for creating the largest solar-powered lamp display, designed in the shape of the sun. This marks his ninth entry into the Guinness World Records. These lamps will be distributed to brighten the homes of those in need. All the records bestowed upon him have been in the field of philanthropy.
His previous records are:
- On March 9, 2019, he set his first Guinness World Record by donating 329,250 pieces of clothing to those in need.
- On August 20, 2019, he set his second Guinness World Record by donating more than 20 tonnes of school supplies to students in 24 hours.
- On January 28, 2020, he set his third Guinness World Record by planting four thousand thirty-five saplings at the Manek Chowk in the City Palace, Udaipur, in 20 seconds.
- On January 25, 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic, he set his fourth Guinness World Record by donating 12,508 personal hygiene products in one hour.
- On January 28, 2022, he set his fifth Guinness World Record by distributing 2,800 sweaters in one hour.
- On January 28, 2022, he set his sixth Guinness World Record by providing 2,800 hunger relief packages to the longest line.
- On January 28, 2023, he achieved his seventh Guinness World Record when 21,058 seeds were potted by a team in one hour.
- On January 28, 2024, he set his eighth Guinness World Record by teaching stress management to 560 participants.
He’s even got an honorary doctorate in literature, conferred on him on December 20, 2022, by Mohanlal Sukhadia University for his philanthropic and humanitarian work.
