Short History
State of Palasni was located in Rewa Kantha under the Gujarat States Agency. The Thakore, the head of the former ruling family, belongs to the Parmar class of Rajputs.
The ancestors of the Thakores of Palasni migrated from Malwa, and in 1096, Jagdev Parmar founded the capital at Patan. In 1120, Randhirji, the nephew of Jagdev Parmar, defeated the Bhils at Tandulja and secured a Thakorate of twelve villages near Rajbodeli. Later, the ancestor of the Parmar family moved to Palasni. The Palasni Gadi was established in 1489 by Askaranji, the son of Karanji. The state was independent and exercised full plenary jurisdiction before entering into relations with the British government in 1825.
