Short History
The founder of the family was Diwan Rai Singh, great-great-grandson of Bir Singh Deo, one of the Rajas of Orchha, who possessed the jagir of Baragaon. Diwan Rai Singh of had 8 sons who were granted Jagirs, including Dhurwai, Bijna, and Tori. Umed Singh, the 8th and youngest son received Banka Pahari. The state originally held five villages, but four were lost during the Marathi invasion.
