Short History

A small estate of three villages granted in 1592 by Maharana Amar Singh of Mewar to Thakur Bairisal, son of Thakur Udai Singh of Ranawas, himself son of Rao Kumpa of Marwar.

Predecessors

  • Rao Kumpa, ancestor of the Kumpawat family, married and had issue.
    • Rao Ishwar Das, he was granted the estate of Harsor; married Thakurani Balechiji Chauhaniji, and had issue, three sons.
      • Thakur Chand Singh, succeeded in Harsor in 1562 and established Chandawal village; he was confirmed in his possession of Chandawal and Harsor in 1595 by Maharaja Soor Singh of Marwar; married and had issue, eight sons.

    • Rao Udai Singh of Ranawas, married and had issue. He died 1567.
      • Thakur Narain Das of Ranawas, married and had issue.
        • Thakur Lakshmi Das, he was granted the estate of Chelawas by Maharaja Soor Singh of Marwar. He died 1611.

        • Thakur Ugrasen, married and had issue.
          • Thakur Mahkaran, married and had issue.
            • Thakur Sardar Singh, he was granted the estate of Siwas in 1708 by Maharaja Ajit Singh of Mewar; married and had issue.
    • Rao Mahesh Das, married and had issue. He died 1576.
      • Thakur Sadul Singh of Kherwa, married and had issue. He died 1583.
        • Thakur Jaswant Singh,  1st Thakur of Kantalia, married and had issue. He died 1623.
      • Thakur Aas Karan, he was granted the estate of Digai in 1616; married and had issue.
        • Thakur Amar Singh, he seized control of Siriyari from the Solanki Rajputs in 1635; married and had issue.
    • Rao Mandan, he was granted Asope, married and had issue. He died 1593 .
    • Rao Trilok Das, married and had issue.
      • Thakur Bhim Singh, he was granted Dhanla. He died 1615 in a battle with Maharaja Kishan Singh of Kishangarh.
  • Thakur BAIRISAL, 1st Thakur of Busi 1592/-, he was granted the estate in 1592 by Maharana Amar Singh of Marwar; married and had issue.

  • Thakur CHHATAR SINGH, Thakur of Busi -/1796, he was confirmed in his estate of 4 villages of revenue Rs. 7000/- by Maharaja Vijay Singh on Mewar in 1774 when Jodhpur wrested Godwad from Udaipur; married and had issue. He died 1796.

  • Thakur BAKHTAWAR SINGH, Thakur of Busi 1796/1849, died sp 1849 leaving an adopted son.
    • (A) Thakur Durjan Singh (qv)
  • Thakur DURJAN SINGH, Thakur of Busi 1849/1856, born as Kunwar Durjan Singh, son of Thakur Madho Singh (see above), he was adopted and confirmed in the estate with three villages of Rs. 12,000 revenue; married and had issue. He died 1856.
    • Thakur Babhut Singh (qv)
  • Thakur BABHUT SINGH, Thakur of Busi 1856/1882, married and left an adopted son. He died spm 1882.
    • Baisa Dan Kanwar [Rani Dan Kunwar of Ajari], married (as his third wife), Raj Sahiban Shri Jorawar Singhji of Ajari, and had issue, one daughter (see Sirohi).

  • Thakur BHIM SINGH, Thakur of Busi 1882/1963, born 1879 as Kunwar Bhim Singh, son of Thakur Bhairu Singh (see above), he succeeded by adoption; married and had issue. He died 1963.
    • Thakur Jaswant Singh (qv)
  • Thakur JASWANT SINGH, Thakur of Busi 1963/2003, married 1stly, Thakurani Ram Kanwar, daughter of Bhati Thakur Udai Singh of Kotri, and had issue. He died in 2003.
