Short History

Chief of Indargarh is descended from Indra Sal, a son of Kunwar Gopinath Singh of Bundi. It pays a tribute of Rs. 17,506-12-0 to the Kotah Darbar, of which Rs. 6,969 are remitted by them to Jaipur.

    • Maharaj Amar Singhji, founder of Khatoli, , served with distinction under Maharao Raja Budh Singh of Bundi in one of Aurangaeb’s campaign in the Deccan, married (among others), Rani Janak Kanwar, daughter of Thakur Jhujhar Singh of Amarsar, and had issue.

  • Maharaja SHER SINGHJI, 11th Thakur of Indargarh 1879/-, born 1873, son of Maharaj Arjun Singh of Chhapol, he succeded by adoption in November 1879, educated at Mayo College, Ajmer; married the daughter of Rawat Pratap Singh of Bhainsrorgarh, and had issue as well as adoptive issue. He died spm.

  • Maharaj SUMER SINGHJI, 12th Thakur of Indargarh -/1949, born 1911, adopted, son of Maharaja Umaid Singh Ji Chapol and his wife Maharani (name unknown) daughter of Raj Shree Thakur Raja Bhanwar Chiman Singh ji of Kachroda, married Rani Basant Kumaribai Sahiba, daughter of HH Shri Huzur Raja Sir Arjun Singhji Sahib Bahadur of Narsinghgarh, and his second wife, and had issue, as well as adoptive issue. He died spm 24th July 1949 in Delhi.
